- Bill is professor emeritus of environmental science at
the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education
at the University of Toronto.
- He has taught environmental science, chemistry,
elementary science,
intermediate/senior science, and outdoor education.
- He has written over 40 books, mostly science and
environmental science
textbooks.
- Bill is involved in naturalization of lawns and other
open spaces.
- His landscaping business includes restoration ecology,
the re-colonization of damaged ecosystems.
- He is actively involved in woodlot management and
on-farm nutrient management.
- Bill conducts presentations and field trips for horticultural
and garden clubs, photography clubs, nature
clubs, woodlot owners, seniors' groups, service clubs,
schools, and churches.
